A torrential rain followed by leaks from the mountain slopes flooded on the 12th of June several households,streets and roads in Sighetu Marmatiei.The torrential rains flooded more streets and courtyards located in Sighetu Marmatiei, in the Câmpu Negru area, Dealul Cetăţii street.Here, about 20 households were affected. Similar situations were registered in the areas of Iapa and Valea Hotarului.Leaks and torrents on the mountain slopes of near the municipality of Sighetu Marmatiei transported alluvium and vegetal material, partially clogging the sewerage system .The water leaks from the mountain area have affected over 10 km of urban road in Sighetu Marmatiei.

The affected areas are the ones that the project monitors.The GeoSES project proves its practical utility by quickly identifying risk areas and predicting the behavior of affected areas over time,in order to reduce the adverse effects of natural disasters.
