On November 21-23, 2022, an international final conference will be held in Uzhhorod on summarizing the results of the project “HUSKROUA/1702/8.1/0065 GeoSES – ” Extension of the “SPACE EMERGENCY SYSTEM” for operational monitoring of dangerous natural and man-made geo-processes in the cross-border region Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine”
The project is financed by the European Union under the cross-border cooperation program “Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine” of the European Neighborhood Instrument 2014-2020. Among the main, already achieved results of the project, it should be noted: conducting a comprehensive assessment of threats and risks in the Carpathian region, processing geomonitoring data of dangerous landslide processes and mudflows in the Tysza River valley, forecasting the occurrence of heavy rains in border areas to prevent floods, developing a joint innovative strategy prevention of environmental disasters in the Carpathian region. The planned results were achieved thanks to the joint and coordinated work of the project partners: Self-government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County (Hungary), Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (Slovakia), Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Budapest university of technology and economics (Hungary).The conference starts on 21 December 2022 at 14:00 (13:00 C.E.T) in a hybrid format (online on the Google Meet platform
