Sarasau City Hall is an important stakeholder of the project because the commune is located on the banks of the Tisza river, being one of the main areas for monitoring the project. The vision of the development strategy of the locality includes important elements in the priority actions, which we quote below:

‘‘The strategy for the future development of the village is based on specific principles and values ,being directly involved in achieving them.We strongly believe that the local authority must respect the basics fundamentals of society, which we share, not only with citizens, but we also apply them in our relationships.Our principles are the basis of the strategic approach in everything what we do to achieve our goals.The principle of a sustainable context:We promote the idea of ​​sustainable development, within which the natural environment, economic development and social life are bonded  each other, their interaction contributing to maintaining and increasing quality people’s lives and their natural environment.Ensuring the protection and quality of the environment in order to increase the standard of life of the inhabitants and the sustainable development of Sarasau commune is one of our main objectives .The Civil Protection  Instruments  will be renewed to respond various issues related to disaster management, namely a response more coherent and better integrated in emergencies, better preparedness for disaster management and innovative actions to reduce risk the occurrence of disasters.”

Heidenröslein Association is an important stakeholder that enhances the activities related to protection and improvement of biodiversity and natural heritage,by developing the site management framework and the management plan for several protected areas,including the project’s monitoring area.Its objectives aim as well the certificates and awareness of communities and local authorities, or studies to complete the level of knowledge of biodiversity: monitoring and evaluation of species and habitats, knowledge of pressure factors on biodiversity, knowledge of invasive species,etc.

Regarding In the area of competence, the Romanian Border Police has the following general duties:

• Participate, together with other formations of the Ministry of Administration and Interior, in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense, civil protection units and other authorities provided by the law, to the activities of rescue and evacuation of persons and property endangered by fires, explosions, damages, accidents, natural calamities and catastrophes, as well as limiting and removing the consequences of such events;
• Participate with territorial authorities for environmental protection and border authorities of neighboring states, as appropriate, to take the necessary measures to prevent environmental risks and the damage, and, in case of accidents affecting environmental factors, eliminate their effects;

These powers represents strenghts in achieving the GeoSES project’s objectives and, consequently, the collaboration with this  stakeholder is particularly valuable.

The local Authority-Sighetu Marmatiei -is a very important actor in the Project’s outcomes.

GeoSES Project is aimed to help local authorities by developing up-to-date risk maps,by using both topographic data and GIS technology as a decision support and contributing to the provision of solutions to stabilize landslides and ultimately lead to less materials damage and loss of life. The local authorities,represented by the City Hall of Sighetu Marmatiei are aware of the importance of drawing up risk maps by specialists, who take into account the influencing factors, such as the configuration of the natural terrain (slope) with landslide potential, the physical-mechanical characteristics of land,the abundant rainfall in spring and autumn. The detection in due time of areas with landslide potential are main targets for the panned constructions,anthropic interventions and the provision of solutions for their stabilization.

Currently, most decisions at national or local level, in various fields of activity, such as demography, territorial planning, areas affected by hazards, infrastructure, real estate valuation, etc. involves spatial data and maps. Our team of specialists participates in the acquisition, manipulation, visualization and analysis of geospatial data related to hazards, which must be integrated into a GIS, in order to adopt the most appropriate methods of environmental protection and conservation.
